I wanted to do a review because prior to purchasing this product, I hadn't seen any reviews on it. I was suffering from heatsoak pretty badly and was looking for something to help. I had stumbled onto this chimney from Subtle Solutions and thought originally the idea was genius, but they were sold out each and every time I checked back in. Even went as far as to search on Ebay and in the classifieds here on the fourms but that always turned up empty results or being a day late on the FEW I had seen listed. I figured why not at least ask Subtle Solutions, directly when and IF they would have more chimneys in stock or even went as far to ask if they had just ONE laying around the shop. Here is one area where I would like to "brag" on them.
I recieved a reply from the owner, Brad saying that they did have one left but it was on the "Subtle Solutions Show Fozzy" and that if I wanted that one in particular, he would be willing to sell me it. I honestly was surprised that he would consider doing that alone. It was the very, last one and it was on what they use to promote the company's products.
Grateful that I had found one finally & the fact that he was willing to sell me the one off his personal car, I couldn't say no. He (Subtle Solutions) were VERY easy to work with, kept in AMAZING contact he included a new gasket for the chimney and new mounting hardware. It was shipped with great care, the packing was done beyond what was necessary to keep it safe and it arrived VERY quickly. So from the start, a huge plus on just the company and the people that work there, this was before the chimney was installed.
The product itself was/is very well made. Materials used are top shelf and real care went into the design and craftmanship of the chimney. Very, very sturdy and it looks amazing.

The install was a breeze, it took around 15 minutes and that was being generous with time and taking extra care to not scratch anything.

The baseplate/heat sheild went on first. One bolt and washer. Very easy to move around and attach.

Then the chimney itself was installed with 4 small hex head screws (allen wrenches worked fine).

I have driven around with the chimney installed and have noticed MUCH cooler engine bay temps. My intercooler is now, no longer scalding hot to the touch, at idle and with the hood up you can feel the heat being emitted from the chimney as it should, the fitment was perfect (2002 WRX) and lined up very well with my hood/splitter for the air to be pushed in and forced directly over my up pipe.
It went from being someone's great idea, to a great product. I just wanted to put this out there incase someone else was considering this product in general or anything else they sell. The chimney has been awesome, better than I expected and the company Subtle Solutions is in the exact same boat.
Big ups to Brad and Subtle, you guys put heart and soul into your products...and it shows.
